Chess Review

A delightful review of the game of chess that I just discovered -- from the perspective of it as a modern Euro-style race game:

  1. Brilliant satire, and hilarious how some commenters take it seriously then try to cover their asses by proclaiming it not good satire.

For the record, it flips claims that games like Puerto Rico are really full of conflict and interaction due to competing over which building to buy, with a claim that a game like chess is really about racing and worker placement.

  2. Totally, the best thing was people taking it seriously. That was pure gold. :-) Although perhaps more crazy is that I was kind of persuaded by the "reskin it as birds chasing a farmer with corn" argument.
